The national campaign by Kellogg’s was so very cool. They had 300 pairs of jeans made in 3 cuts and instead of sizes, they were labelled with an adjective. The TV production company asked me to close my boutique for 3 days to host this TV commercial (they paid handsomely). The crew was incredible – about 50 people transformed the boutique, removed all of our inventory and turned our stock room into their studio.
Then, they asked me to be IN the commercial. I’m the one measuring the 300 women to whom they gave a pair of denim. My glasses had a camera in them! It took 7 hours to complete all of the footage and fit all of the customers. The women who ended up in the 1:30 spot were paid royalties every time it ran.
It was so well received that they aired it on the World Series. I was watching the game with my husband and he started yelling “Hey! There you are on TV!”
